Top 5 layer styles
In Photoshop, we apply layer style over one or more than one layer. Simply, just take a dummy text and right click on it, the click on layer style. If you cannot find the layer style option in by clicking right on the text then go to the top and then layer>layer style.
Drop-shadow: In this option one will get many different features also like blend mode. We can change different blending mode for our drop-shadow text effect .The effect will be shown behind the text.
- Opacity: With the help of opacity sliders we can control the transparency of the text.
- Distance: In distance feature, we describe that what should be the distance between drip shadow, and text or object. It gives a good look to the content.
Pattern overlay: As its name suggests, pattern overlay is where we implies the pattern. In our text or layer, pattern overlay does not have more options like others it has very few like (opacity, pattern, and scale). You can resize pattern by increasing or decreasing the scale slider.
Some default patterns are already available in photoshop. The opacity slider controls how our pattern looks.
Gradient overlay: The gradient overlay creates depth in our layer. We use gradient overlay with different blending mode also. In gradient overlay, we can control the percentage of colors we have with the help of gradient scale.
There is also an option of styling in gradient overlay which consists of (Radial, Diamond, Liner, and Angle).
Inner shadow: Inner shadow basically used to create a 3D effect in a 2D image. We take an image and create an offset shadow within the image to make it look as if it is cut out. The setting of Inner shadow is same as Drop shadow. The only difference between them is drop shadow showing up behind the image and Inner shadow shows it up within the image or layer.)
Stroke: The stroke is used to add border and stroke in layer. In this we add solid color lines. With the help of size slider width can be set of a layer. It has position feature through which we can control the alignment of stroke. Inside, outside, center these are the position in stroke.
